The Big Easy drew a big audience.
NCIS: New Orleans bowed to 17.1 million viewers and a 2.5 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic Tuesday, just a tad below mothership NCIS, which earned 18 million and a 2.9.New Orleans, however, was down 17 percent from NCIS: Los Angeles' performance in the timeslot last year. Person of Interest (10.6 million, 1.8) followed, down five- tenths from last fall's opener.

TV's most heartbreaking deaths

The Voice (13 million, 4.0) was the top-rated show of the night, leading into Chicago Fire (9.4 million, 2.7), which was even with last season's premiere and drew its biggest audience ever.
Season 2 of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (5.6 million, 1.9) was down a tenth from its season finale and almost three points from its massive debut last year. Making its timeslot debut, Forever (6.5 million, 1.7) was on par with its Monday numbers.
Fox's lineup all dipped a few tenths.
