After hitting a series low last week because of football pre-emption, The Mentalist made a big rebound Sunday.
The CBS drama nabbed 10.6 million viewers and a 2.0 in the adults-18-to-49 demographic, surging 25 percent. Lead-ins The Amazing Race (9.4 million, 2.6) and The Good Wife (9 million, 1.7) were steady. (The numbers will likely be adjusted as CBS did have football overrun in several markets.)
Vote: Which fall premieres won you over? Which flopped?
While The Mentalist grew, ABC's 666 Park Avenue continued to fall, sinking 12 percent to 4.9 million viewers and a 1.5. Once Upon a Time (9.1 million, 3.0) also fell, but Revenge (8.2 million, 2.7) was up a tenth.NBC won the night with Sunday Night Football (17.7 million, 6.9) and easily trumped Fox's coverage of Game 1 of the National League Championship Series between the St. Louis Cardinals and the San Francisco Giants (6 million, 1.9).8 p.m.
