American Idol's Thursday debut held steady with last year's numbers.

After posting its lowest regular-season premiere ever, Idol pulled in 16.2 million viewers and a 5.6 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic, down just a tenth from last year's Night 2 bow. The episode slipped just 7 percent from Wednesday's debut.

ABC was second for the night, led by Grey's Anatomy (8.6 million, 2.9) and Scandal (7.9 million, 2.6), which were both down.
