American Idol's Thursday debut held steady with last year's numbers.
After posting its lowest regular-season premiere ever, Idol pulled in 16.2 million viewers and a 5.6 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic, down just a tenth from last year's Night 2 bow. The episode slipped just 7 percent from Wednesday's debut.
ABC was second for the night, led byGrey's Anatomy (8.6 million, 2.9) and Scandal (7.9 million, 2.6), which were both down.

Winter TV Preview: Must-see new shows

On NBC, Parks and Recreation (3.9 million, 1.9) grew four-tenths in its new 8:30 p.m. timeslot, matching its highest rating since November 2011. It's also Parks' biggest audience since last January and NBC's best rating in the slot since March 2012. The rest of NBC's comedies were down, with 1600 Penn (3.04 million, 1.2) slipping 25 percent.
