Question: Please help! In the last Thanksgiving episode of Gilmore Girls there was a reference to Big Edie and Little Edie. I later found out they were referring to the documentary Grey Gardens. So, I finally got a chance to watch it (wow!) and now I can't remember what exactly the reference on Gilmore Girls was. It's killing me to know what was said! Thanks. — Jules

Televisionary: If you're referring to the November 2002 episode "A Deep-Fried Korean Thanksgiving," the girls are watching the 1976 Albert and David Maysles film, which (for those not in the know) focuses on Jackie Kennedy's aunt Edie Bouvier Beale and her daughter. Without going into the exact lines (they're out there in fan transcriptions if you Google them), Rory and Lorelai essentially say that they like the women, that both were pretty, that they were the hidden Kennedys and that they were memorable due to their happiness, their cats, their raccoons, their house and their love for one another. "Add a few years and they're us," Lorelai observes.
