Question: On Gunsmoke, Milburn Stone was always known as "Doc" Adams. I say he had a name (Galen) but my friend says he was just "Doc." Please tell us who is correct. Doc, the only major character besides Marshall Matt Dillon (James Arness) to stay on the CBS show for its entire 1955-75 run, was indeed named Galen.
