Royal Family Gathers for Queen’s Jubilee Pageant

Queen Elizabeth, Diamond Jubilee

Queen Elizabeth II was honored Sunday at a special river pageant as part of her Diamond Jubilee celebration, People reports.

The Queen, 86, and the royal family rode down the River Thames on the Spirit of Chartwell royal barge, which was adorned with 10,000 roses, carnations, sweet peas and red charm peonies. The royal barge was accompanied by more than 1,000 other boats, and an estimated one million people lined the river route to catch a glimpse of the whole family — which included Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, as well as Prince William, his wife Kate, and Prince Harry.

Prince Andrew and his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, were on a separate boat, along with the Earl and Countess of Wessex and several of the Queen's cousins. The Queen's daughter, Princess Anne and her husband Vice-Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, were in another boat. Kate's parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, as well as her sister Pippa and brother James, were also a part of the celebration.

The entire pageant, which covers seven miles of the river, took approximately three hours.
