The Associated Press is reporting that just a week before his death, Richard Pryor sent a letter to an Indiana county sheriff expressing his and his wife's outrage over an animal-cruelty case in which a police officer is suspected of killing his girlfriend's dog. "We were so disturbed by that," says Jennifer Pryor. "Richard and I have always had a strong affinity for animals."
