Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) is turning in her throne for a command according to new Star Wars: The Force Awakens spoilers from Entertainment Weekly.

Director J.J. Abrams reveals in an interview that Princess Leia is now General Leia when audiences travel to a galaxy far, far away this December. "She's referred to as General," says director and co-writer J.J. Abrams. "But ... there's a moment in the movie where a character sort of slips and calls her 'Princess,'" he admits.

That's right. Leia now has the title to prove what Star Wars audiences have known all along: she's in charge. Fans can only guess who says it and what their punishment will be for using the old title because Leia has never been one for admonishing quietly.

However, Fisher has even grander ideas for how people should address the iconic character. "People should say, 'Hey! You! My one true joy!'" she says.

While Fisher jokes about Leia's new title, the daughter of Darth Vader has a lot on her plate when she arrives in Episode VII.

"Not easily," Fisher says of how Leia is dealing with the circumstances of the movie, "...Under a lot of pressure. Committed as ever to her cause, but I would imagine feeling somewhat defeated, tired, and pissed."

There's still a powerful message to be learned from Leia though - "Never give up," Fisher says.
