Pretty Little Liars: Who's The Betrayer? We Size Up the Suspects

Pretty Little Liars is nearing its summer finale when one of 12 possible people will make the ultimate betrayal. Although at the end of last season, it was finally revealed that Mona (Janel Parrish) was "A," there are still plenty of mysteries to be solved. First, there's the new person calling themselves "A" who continuously torments Aria (Lucy Hale), Emily (Shay Mitchel), Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Hanna (Ashley Benson). Then there are the unsolved murders of Alison (Sasha Pieterse) and Maya (Bianca Lawson).

Pretty Little Liars Check-in: Are the girls closer to solving the mystery of "A"?

In anticipation of the summer finale (Aug. 28, 8/7c), we're sizing up all the suspects that ABC Family has named and grades their shadiness factor from 1 to 5 (5 being the most sketchy).

Paige
Perhaps the frontrunner for now, Paige (Lindsey Shaw) has become a main player this season. First of all, we first saw how cruel she could be in Season 2 (she pushed Emily underwater!). And though the shy swimmer grew close to Emily as they bonded over both being gay, and the two even began dating, Paige recently caught Emily kissing someone else: Maya's cousin Nate! Plus: In the recently released finale pictures, we see several shots of Paige being questioned by police. Could that be a clue?
Shadiness grade factor = 5

Pretty Little Liars' Brant Daugherty Kahns us good!
Lucas
What happened to the sweet nerd we first met him in Season 1? Although we found out he's got a darker side during the Halloween prequel, this season Lucas (Brendan Robinson) has been nothing but mean, secretive and simply put, strange.

Shadiness grade factor = 5

Ezra
Forget the fact that Ezra (Ian Harding) has been in a relationship with his past (very underage) student for the entire series, but this season the skeletons have been coming out of Mr. Fitz's closet. There was the ginormous wad of cash that Aria found in his sock drawer, and most recently we learned that he once got a girl pregnant and his mom paid her to stay away.

Shadiness grade factor = 4

First Look: Another death on Pretty Little Liars?

Melissa
If you asked us last season, Melissa (Torrey DeVito) would've definitely been a top suspect. We know she had it out for Alison for hooking up with her boyfriend, she dated creepster Garrett, and she even mentioned her favorite ice cream flavor was toffee, which Mona mentioned was her lipstick shade in the loony bin. Although she hasn't been too heavily involved in this season's plots, she very well could be the newest member of the "A" team.

Shadiness grade factor = 4

Toby
Sweet, doting Toby (Keegan Allen) can't be suspicious, right? Not so fast. His time spent living with Jenna (Tammin Sursok) could've brainwashed him, and he has been awfully annoyed with his girlfriend Spencer lately.

Shadiness grade factor = 2

Pretty Little Liars: Does Hanna belong with Caleb or Wren?

Caleb
Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) certainly has the means to pull it off, considering his history with cracking codes and passwords. Even prior to his first introduction, executive producer Marlene King described him to TVGuide.com as a "sketchy guy with a heart of gold." But despite his questionable past, Caleb has proven to be nothing but loyal to girlfriend Hanna, and we can't see that changing anytime soon — even though she smooched someone else.

Shadiness grade factor = 2

Byron

Yes, Mr. Montgomery (Chad Lowe) is none too pleased his daughter is dating Ezra, and he's previously cheated on his wife, but there's no real reason to believe he'd be involved at all in the big reveal.

Shadiness grade factor = 1

Ashley
The only other parent in the mix, Ashley (Laura Leighton) is another one who has a debatably damaging track record. We've seen Ms. Marin steal from a client and sleep with the creepy Det. Wilden (Bryce Johnson) but then again, it was all in the name of protecting her daughter, Hanna. Another reason we don't feel she's a likely suspect? She's now seeing a pastor, whom any guilty person might steer clear from.

Shadiness grade factor = 1

Pretty Little Liars: "A"'s worst acts

Spencer
The smartest of the foursome, Spencer could easily pull many of the tasks off, but would she? After all this time we find it hard to believe any of the main girls would be the betrayer, though Spencer was the one to uncover that Mona was "A." Perhaps because she's an insider?

Shadiness grade factor = 1
Hanna
Of all the girls, Hanna is clearly the closest with Mona and still makes regular visits to see her in the hospital. Maybe she's been on her side all along? Or perhaps she's using her connection to Mona to further infiltrate the "A" team?

Shadiness grade factor = 1

Emily
She's been dubbed the weakest link by "A" in the past, but Emily has blood on her hands, literally, in these photos from finale.

Shadiness grade factor = 1

Aria
Aria has been pretty busy with her own drama, but nonetheless has been very intimidating and forceful when she needs to be (i.e. her "truth" game with Noel and her visit with Mona).

Shadiness grade factor = 1
