PLUTO BASHED

As far as bombs go, this one's a doozy: Eddie Murphy's big-budget sci-fi comedy The Adventures of Pluto Nash crashed and burned at the box office. The film — which cost a reported $90 million — opened in 10th place with $2 million. It was the worst debut of Murphy's career. Faring much better was Vin Diesel, whose XXX grossed $23 million to remain the No. 1 movie for a second straight weekend. Its 10-day total stands at $84.9 million. At No. 2 and showing no signs of fading was the Mel Gibson spooker Signs, which collected another $19.5 million for a $150.7 million cume. Surfer girl pic
