Pilot Season: Allison Janney Cast as Anna Faris' MOM

Allison Janney has been cast as the mother of Anna Faris' character in CBS' Chuck Lorre sitcom pilot MOM, TVGuide.com has learned.

In the half-hour comedy, Faris plays a newly sober single mother who's trying to get her life together in Napa Valley. Janney, who's best known for her Emmy-winning role as White House Press Secretary C.J. Cregg on The West Wing, will play her mother Bonnie. Janney, who has guest-starred on such shows as Lostand The Big C, most recently was a regular on the short-lived ABC comedy Mr. Sunshine.

Lorre and Eddie Gorodetsky, co-producers of Two and a Half Men, will act as executive producers on the new project, which is being produced by Warner Bros. TV.
