Congressman Defends Calling Jackson a "Child Molester"

Michael Jackson, Peter King

Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) appeared on The O'Reilly Factor Wednesday to reiterate his claim that Michael Jackson was a child molester who shouldn't be lionized.

King caught fire for his remarks, which Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Ill.) and the NAACP's Hazel Dukes implied were racist.

In a self-made video King posted to YouTube, he contrasts the news attention given the death of Jackson (whom he calls a "pervert" and a "lowlife") with the comparative lack of attention given public servants like police officers and firefighters.

Jackson was acquitted of child molestation charges in 2005.

What do you think? Is the congressman just saying that a "10-day cacophony of glorification," as he calls it, was too much for a man with as complicated a history as Jackson? Or are his remarks offensive and perhaps even outright racist? Watch the videos and decide for yourself.
