For FX's The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, stars Cuba Gooding Jr., John Travolta and Courtney B. Vance were tasked with just that, taking on the roles of Simpson and his lawyers Robert Shapiro and Johnnie Cochran, respectively. Rounding out the defense team is David Schwimmer as lawyer Robert Kardashian, Simpson's sycophantic best friend whose family became a household name only after his death.
