What on Earth? PBS Kids is kicking off a month of ecology-themed programming, starting with the return of the hit series Wild Kratts on Monday, April 7. The Season 3 premiere, "Hermit Crab Shell Exchange," finds the curious Kratt brothers learning all about hermit crabs and facing a dramatic "kidnapping."
Here's an exclusive TV Guide Magazine preview:
Wild Kratts week continues with the exploration of animals from across the globe, including bison, black-footed ferrets, flying fish and more. The brothers also explore such concepts as adaptation and habitats.
Then look for more PBS Kids Earth Month events later in April: Arthur celebrates "Outdoor Week" April 21-25, and April 21 also marks the launch of Plum Landing, a digital project that uses animated webisodes, online games, free apps, hands-on science activities and live-action videos to help kids connect to nature.
That's not all! PBS Kids will premiere its first ever Cyberchase movie in mid-April. The eco-themed one-hour special has Matt, Jackie, Inez and Digit rescuing the animals and restoring harmony to Ecotopia after Hacker and his bumbling robots wreak havoc. The Cyberchase Movie, which also explores natural habitats and the impact of habitat loss, is accompanied by three real-world Cyberchase games focusing on waste reduction and solar power.
