Paula Deen's career may never be the same again, but the legal battle against her is over.

The lawsuit brought against her and her brother by a former employee has been "amicably resolved," the plaintiff's attorney, Matthew Billips, told The Wrap. It is unclear if Deen and her brother, Earl W "Bubba" Hiers, had to pay a settlement.

A timeline of Paula Deen's downfall

Lisa Jackson, who used to work for a Savannah, Ga., restaurant run by Hiers and co-owned by Deen, filed a lawsuit against both in May, claiming that she had been subjected to racial and sexual discrimination, as well as threats of violence.

The racial discrimination allegation was dismissed earlier this month by a judge. However, it was too late for Deen. After admitting to using racial slurs during a deposition for the case in May, Deen's food empire came crashing down a month later when the deposition was leaked to the media.

Deen was then dropped by Food Network, and several other companies, including Target, Walmart and Home Depot, severed all ties. Deen tried to undo the damage by making a bizarre appearance on the Today show, in which she told Matt Lauer that she didn't know if the N-word was offensive. However, she dropped her legal team and agent soon after and hired a Washington D.C. crisis firm.

Law & Order: SVU will air an episode intertwining a fictionalized version of Deen's scandal and the Trayvon Martin shooting sometime this upcoming season.
