Parks and Recreation is preparing for what can only be called an epic season (thankfully not series) finale.
Not only will First Lady Michelle Obama appear, but there will be plenty of other familiar faces popping up in Pawnee for the upcoming Unity concert, which will include a special performance by Donna's (Retta) cousinGinuwine and — possibly — Duke Silver!
Michelle Obama to appear on Parks and Recreation's season finale
Lest we forget, Andy (Chris Pratt) recently discovered Ron's (Nick Offerman) big secret: His alter ego, Duke, is a jazz saxophone player who happens to be wildly popular with middle-age ladies. When TVGuide.com asked Offerman what role Ron would play in the Unity concert before Tuesday's PaleyFest event, he replied, "Sex god." "Ron will be creaming some panties in the finale," he added. "He will create an atmosphere of moisture among the ladies that did not exist heretofore."
Stop blushing! Duke Silver won't be the only one making a triumphant return. Ben Schwartz also revealed that he'll reprise his role as self-proclaimed ladies' man Jean-Ralphio. As for Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe, who recently left the NBC comedy, you won't have to wait until the finale to see at least one of them.
The Unity concert, however, won't be the finale's biggest moment, as Leslie (Amy Poehler) will decide whether or not to take a job running the new National Parks office out of Chicago. "The stuff that happens in that last episode is bonkers," Poehler said during the panel. "It ends with a lot of change."
Spring TV: Must-watch new shows
"It gets a little tough there when she's trying to make the decision," Adam Scott told us. "It's tough because she would be crazy not to take this job, but, at the same time, Pawnee is her life's work and her heart is there. It also affects Ben because he's going with her, but Ben has a set of skills that can be applied anywhere, so he just wants to support her and do what's best for her. It's really exciting where the decision takes us."
Parks and Recreation airs Thursdays at 8:30/7:30c on NBC. The one-hour finale will air Thursday, April 24 at 8/7c.
