Wedding bells will be ringing once again on Parks and Recreation!
During the upcoming sixth season of the NBC comedy, one couple will take a trip down the aisle. "I will personally guarantee that there will be a wedding this season, that some couple will get married," executive producer Mike Schur tells TVGuide.com.
Which duo will be taking the plunge? We can already rule out Leslie (Amy Poehler) and Ben (Adam Scott), as well as April (Aubrey Plaza) and Andy (Chris Pratt), since both couples are already married. With Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe leaving the series in Episode 13, it seems highly likely that Ann and Chris, who are trying to have a baby, will be the lucky couple.
"Any time you're having a child with someone, or trying to, marriage is somewhere on the table, but their relationship has never been traditional," Schur says, recalling how, at one point, Ann didn't even realize Chris had broken up with her.
Ron (Nick Offerman) and Diane (Lucy Lawless), who found out she was pregnant in the season finale, seem like the next likely candidates. Schur even called Diane Ron's wife in a recent interview with us, though clarified later that that was inadvertent. "They're in a similar position to Chris and Ann," he says. "Ron is very single-minded and very passionate about what he's passionate about. He's very definitive in his actions and I think that over the course of this season, you'll see that play out."
Still, Schur cautions not to narrow down the candidates to just these two couples, noting that whoever does walk down the aisle, "it will be a couple that makes sense."
