After taking Sarah (Lauren Graham) to a fancy black tie dinner last week — where he was being honored, no less — Carl (Josh Stamberg) stops by Sarah's apartment with a very interesting proposal: a job opportunity!

In this exclusive sneak peek from Thursday's episode (10/9c, NBC), Carl explains that his friend, Alec, wants to interview Sarah about a "huge campaign" for a company called Surfsport. But for some reason, Sarah isn't exactly jumping for joy. "I don't know if I can handle an account like Surfsport," she tells Carl. "They're huge. I don't have the experience. I don't have the equipment."
