Pamela Anderson is running the New York City Marathon and not just in the hopes of burning some calories.
The former Baywatch star announced Saturday that she is running the marathon to raise funds for the J/P Haitian Relief Organization. On her fundraising page, Anderson says she hopes to raise $500,000 by November for the 26.2 mile-long race and will do contests and other updates in the coming months.
"It has been heartbreaking to witness the poverty among people in what should be a very rich country," Anderson wrote on her fundraising page about Haiti. "It feels good to help and it heals us too."
