Exclusive: Doctor Who Alum to Guest-Star on Outlander

Which star babysat Angelina Jolie?

Hines will play Sir Gordon Fletcher, the English warden of Wentworth Prison in Scotland. Claire (Caitriona Balfe) meets Fletcher when she pretends be a relative of Jamie's (Sam Heughan) and tries to convince Fletcher to — spoiler alert — let her see him. The episode will air during the second half of the first season, currently slated for a 2015 premiere.

Diana Gabaldon, the author of the Outlander book series, has said that she was inspired to pen the books while watching an episode of Doctor Who featuring Hines as Scottish lad Jamie McCrimmon,companion to the second Doctor (Patrick Troughton).

Outlander airs on Saturdays at 9/8c on Starz.
