Oscars: How Did Ellen Do As Host?

Sunday marked Ellen DeGeneres' sophomore outing as host of the Academy Awards, and the typically tame comedienne offered up some jokes that were more barbed than usual during her opening monologue.

In her intro to the show, DeGeneres took jabs at everyone from June Squibb to Jennifer Lawrence. "If you win tonight, I think we should bring you the Oscar," she told Lawrence, who famously tripped walking up to the stage to accept her Best Actress award last year (and also stumbled on the red carpet this year).

Oscars: Who took home the big prizes?

Gesturing to Liza Minnelli in the audience, DeGeneres told the crowd: "That's one of the best Liza Minnelli impersonators I have ever seen in my life. Good job, sir."

But the host wasn't afraid to get a little self-deprecating either. Referencing Jonah Hill baring all in The Wolf of Wall Street, she told the Best Supporting Actor nominee: "You showed us something in that film that I have not seen in a very, very long time." Zing!

Best and worst dressed at the Oscars

Throughout the night, DeGeneres' bits often veered into the absurd. Spending an equal amount of time out in the audience as she did on the stage, Ellen ordered a pizza, distributed it with the help of a star-struck delivery guy, and later collected money for the pies in Pharrell's hat; came out on stage dressed as Glinda the Good Witch from The Wizard of Oz;and took an epic selfie with stars including Jared Leto, Meryl Streep, Bradley Cooper, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Channing Tatum and Kevin Spacey.

Check out the video of Ellen taking her selfie below. How do you think she did as host? Vote in our poll, and sound off in the comments!
