OSCAR RATINGS

Despite Rock's lackluster performance, Sunday's Oscarcast didn't suck too badly in the ratings. According to preliminary figures, the three-hour-plus ceremony averaged a 30.1 rating — up slightly over 2004, and its best performance in five years. Viewership totals will be released later today, but Nielsen warns that the data won't reflect the number of people who died of boredom halfway through.
