"So far, she's been known as this big secret so a lot of [answers] will be revealed," Campbell tells TVGuide.com. "Everyone is going to finally understand why she is the way she is."

On last week's episode, Davina was finally let out for the night with disastrous results, but with Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) by her side with the newly awakened Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Davina seems more protected than ever. "Davina starts to develop her own sense of friendship," she says. "Marcel is the one person she considers her family now -- he's like a really protective older brother or father figure to her, and she'd do anything to support him. With Elijah, he really feels for her when she tells him her story, and Davina knows he wants to help her."

Another major player in this week's history lesson is Sophie Devereaux (Daniella Pineda) who shares more than one surprising connection to her current adversaries. "It will all make perfect sense after this week," Pineda tells us. "There will be something in her past that a lot of people will find a little shocking, but it will also reveal Sophie's relationship to her sister that will make people a little more empathetic to her."

Ultimately, the two witches will cross paths revealing via flashback the connection that ties them together. From there, both Campbell and Pineda hope it gives viewers reasons to root for them.

"I think people like Sophie because she's a risk-taker and she's a bada--," says Pineda. "She's a good person deep down and out of all the women on the show she's the ballsiest. She's going up against people who have powers that supersede her own, yet she's still brave."

Adds Campbell: "I'm excited for people to finally understand her more and root for her as she finds her sense of self. She's still figuring out who she is, and everyone's going to have a lot of fun watching that."

The Originals airs on Tuesdays at 8/7c on The CW.
