Olympics: What to Watch on Day 13 --- Ladies' Free Skate; US vs. Canada for Women's Hockey Gold

Day 13 of the Winter Olympics on Thursday features the ladies' figure skating free skate and yet another gold medal duel between the U.S. and Canadian women's hockey teams. Here's what you should watch (all times ET).
The 411 on the 12 new Winter Olympic events
All events are live-streamed at NBCOlympics.com. Thursday's live daytime coverage (12 p.m., NBC) will feature the women's hockey final. Tape-delayed prime-time coverage (8 p.m., NBC) includes freestyle skiing and figure skating.
Figure skating, ladies' free skate
When: 10 a.m. on NBC Sports (live); 8 p.m. on NBC (tape delay)
As expected, Yuna Kim heads into the free skate in first place with a Russian teen on her heels, but it's not the one everyone thought it would be. Adelina Sotnikova, 17, is behind Kim, while 15-year-old sensation Yulia Lipnitskaya, who fell in her short skate, sits in fifth. 2012 world champ Carolina Kostner of Italy is in third, with Americans Gracie Gold, Ashley Wagner and Polina Edmunds in fourth, sixth and seventh, respectively. If Kim successfully defends her title, she'd be the first figure skater to do so since Katarina Witt in 1988.

Women's hockey, gold medal final — U.S. vs. Canada

The longtime rivals collide for the fourth time in five Olympic finals. Canada, vying for a four-peat, has not lost at the Games since Feb. 17, 1998, when the Americans trumped them in the event's Olympic debut. The U.S. will not only hope to avenge two finals losses, but also avenge its defeat last week to Canada in group play after beating them four times in a row in lead-up friendlies.
Freestyle skiing, women's halfpipe final
When: 12:30 p.m. (live); 8 p.m. on NBC (tape delay)
American Maddie Bowman, the two-time reigning Winter X Games champ, is the favorite, with Canada's Roz Groenewoud, the 2012 X Games gold medalist, a major threat too. Groenewoud won silver at the X Games in January, a month after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on both knees. But the name of the event will be Sarah Burke, the late Canadian ski halfpipe pioneer who spent years lobbying for her sport's inclusion into the Games. (She died in 2012 after a training accident, a year after ski halfpipe and ski slopestyle were voted in.) Qualifications start at 9:30 a.m.
