Isaiah Mustafa, best known as the guy from the "I'm on a horse" Old Spice commercials, has landed a role in the planned Tyler Perry film adaptation of For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf.
During a recent satellite interview on Oprah, the 36-year-old Mustafa told Winfrey about the many opportunities that have come his way since the commercials debuted — including an audition for a role in the movie.
Mustafa appeared on show like he does in one of his commercials — shirtless and in the bathroom. Little did he know that Perry was sitting next to Winfrey in her Chicago studio.
"Can you do me a favor and put your shirt on and come out of the bathroom, man," Perry joked. "No, I just wanted to say you got the part. You did a great job."
For Colored Girls is based on Ntozake Shange's 1975 play, and will star Anika Noni Rose, Mariah Carey, Whoopi Goldberg, Janet Jackson, Phylicia Rashad, Kerry Washington, Macy Gray, Loretta Devine and Jurnee Smollett.
