The Office

Returns: Thursday, April 10, at 9 pm (NBC)

Number of new episodes:6

Where we left off: Michael (Steve Carell) accompanied Jan (Melora Hardin) to New York City, where he was deposed as a part of her wrongful termination lawsuit. His diary, presented as evidence, exposed painful personal and professional revelations.

What's next: The tension between Michael and Jan surfaces when they invite Jim (John Krasinski) and Pam (Jenna Fischer) over for dinner. "Michael and Jan are papering over some pretty big issues, and they come out," executive producer Greg Daniels says. "It's a tense and compressed situation." On the work front, Ryan (B.J. Novak) slips on his climb up the corporate ladder. "He's having a lot of problems with the Dunder Mifflin Web site," Daniels says. A night of clubbing in New York with Michael and Dwight (Rainn Wilson) won't help his situation.
