Norah O'Donnell

Norah O'Donnell will replace Erica Hill as one of the co-hosts of CBS This Morning, CBS announced Thursday.
O'Donnell, who currently serves as CBS News' Chief White House Correspondent, will join co-hosts Charlie Rose and Gayle King this fall.

"Norah is an accomplished reporter with all the skills for the job," CBS News Chairman Jeff Fager said in a statement. "She's a hard worker who knows her story and, as she has shown time after time at the White House, she can think on her feet on live television."

Along with the new position, O'Donnell will also continue as the main substitute anchor for Face the Nation. Hill is in discussions for a new role at CBS news, the network said.

O'Donnell, who joined the network in June 2011, was previously the Chief Washington Correspondent for MSNBC and a contributor to NBC's Today.
