Nicole Richie Serves 82 Mins. of 96-Hour Jail Sentence

A "very cooperative" Nicole Richie has done her time — all 82 minutes of it. Kerri Webb of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's department tells TV Guide, "We want to be sure" to emphasize how "cooperative" Richie was, offering the statement: "Today, August 27, 2007 ,at 3:15 pm, Ms. Nicole Camille Richie reported to the Century Region Detention Facility to surrender herself following her July 27, 2007, sentencing to serve 96 hours in the Los Angeles County Jail."Richie was then promptly released at 4:37 pm.The Simple Life star and expectant mother was accompanied by her attorney, Shawn Chapman Holly and her boyfriend (and babydaddy) Joel Madden.Richie received her second DUI conviction for her December 11, 2006, arrest, when she was found driving the wrong way on a freeway, and under the influence of drugs. Richie had to complete her jail service by September 28. She was also fined more than $2,000 and ordered to attend 21 days of alcohol education. — Reporting by N.F. Mendoza
