For a minute there last year, it looked like New Girl wasn't coming back for a seventh season, with the Season 6 finale also serving as a series finale if it didn't get picked up again but leaving the door open to continue the story. Ultimately, Fox opted to let Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and the boys say goodbye with an eight-episode final season that premieres Tuesday, April 10.

Season 7 will jump forward three years. Jess and Nick (Jake Johnson) are in a stable, happy relationship, and the conflict will be whether or not they want to get married. Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Cece (Hannah Simone) are raising their daughter, Ruth. Winston (Lamorne Morris) and Aly (Nasim Pedrad) are married and have a baby of their own on the way. And they'll all be experiencing other milestones along the way, both happy and sad.

Returning guest stars will include Damon Wayans, Jr., Dermot Mulroney, David Walton and Rob Reiner. New guest stars will include One Mississippi's Tig Notaro and Curb Your Enthusiasm's JB Smoove as Winston's father, who Winston will meet for the first time.

New episodes will air over six weeks on Fox, with a special one-hour series finale airing Tuesday, May 15 at 9/8c. If you're a cord-cutter, you can watch live via fuboTV, Hulu with Live TV or Sling TV. New episodes will be available to stream on-demand on Hulu the day after they premiere.
