Netflix has answered your holiday wish: the streaming service will now offer offline viewing.

On Wednesday, Netflix announced that subscribers will have the option to download movies and TV shows in advance of viewing. That means you can distract yourself with Netflix's expansive library without any internet connection, such as in airplane mode when flying home for the holidays or even on the subway commuting to work!

Unfortunately, not every title on the streaming service is available to watch offline, but Netflix plans to add more down the road. In the meantime, many of Netflix's original series, including Orange Is the New Black, Narcos and The Crown, are available to download right now.

Subscribers can access the download feature on their Apple and Android devices through the Netflix app, which now includes a "download" button on the Details page. The download feature is included in all Netflix plans, although users will need iOs 8.0 or later or Android 4.4.2 or later to access it, along with the most recent version of the Netflix app.
