NCIS: New Orleansis filling out its ranks.

Chasing Life's Rob Kerkovich has been tapped to play Sebastian Lund, a new forensic scientist who will work in the morgue alongside Dr. Wade (CCH Pounder), executive producer Gary Glasberg announced to reporters at the Television Critics Association's fall previews on Thursday. "We're thrilled to have him on board," Glasberg said. "He's a terrific talent."

NCIS: New Orleans follows a local field office in the Big Easy, a city whose rich setting of music, fun and debauchery can be a magnet for military personnel on leave. With that fun comes trouble, however, and when the city's darker side emerges, Special Agent Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula) and his team are the ones to call.

CBS' new drama was born out of a backdoor pilot that aired last season as a two-parter on NCIS. Fortunately, fans of the flagship series won't have to wait long before Gibbs (Mark Harmon, who also serves as an executive producer) is back in the Big Easy! "We're currently planning an episode that's coming up where Gibbs will make an appearance," Glasberg said and added that future story lines will also involve Tony (Michael Weatherly), Abby (Pauley Perrette) and Ducky (David McCallum).

The series, which also stars Zoe McLellan and Lucas Black, will debut Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 9/8c following the premiere of NCIS.
