NCIS: LA: Kensi Gets Devastating News About Her Recovery

Kensi (Daniela Ruah) is finally out of her coma on NCIS: LA -- but after this week's episode, Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) may wish she was still unconscious.

OK, that might be an exaggeration. But good grief, it seems like Kensi's personality was just as damaged in that helicopter crash as her body was. She's desperate to get out of the hospital (which is totally understandable); but, upon learning from her doctor that she's partially paralyzed after nerves on both sides of her body were damaged, and that her recovery is going to require four to six months of daily physical therapy, Kensi starts taking her frustration out on Deeks, who is being nothing but supportive.

Despite telling Granger (Miguel Ferrer) that he still doesn't know if he has what it takes to nurse Kensi back to health, Deeks spends his nights by Kensi's bedside, sleeping on the couch in her room. In an attempt to cheer her up (and give her something other than hospital food), he takes her outside in her wheelchair and orders her favorite takeout. But no good deed goes unpunished for poor Deeks, and his relentlessly positive attitude irks Kensi, who's grappling with the fact that she may never walk again. She pushes him away, heading back to the hospital in a huff as she tells the nurse that she doesn't want any more visitors.

So, needless to say, it's going to be a rocky road for Densi over the next several weeks and months.

In other news, Eric (Barrett Foa) and Nell (Renee Felice Smith) get a small idea of what Kensi and Deeks are going through when Nell is injured in the field. It's not serious, and her recovery is swift, but when she returns to headquarters Eric tells her that he's been worried sick about losing her, and she rewards him with a kiss. Kensi, take note.
