NBC has snagged Roseanne Barr's comeback sitcom Downwardly Mobile, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Like Roseanne, the comedy is about a blue-collar family — this time living in a mobile home community. Barr co-created the project with longtime boyfriend Johnny Argent and former Roseanne writer/executive producer Eric Gilliland, who will serve in the same capacity on Downwardly Mobile. Steven Greener, from Barr's short-lived Lifetime series Roseanne's Nuts, will also executive-produce. Under the deal, NBC must green-light the pilot.

Lifetime no longer serving Roseanne's Nuts

If NBC orders Downwardly Mobile to series, it would be Barr's first scripted series since Roseanne ended 14 years ago. Since then, she hosted a talk show, The Roseanne Show, for two years and starred in Roseanne's Nuts, which chronicled her life in Hawaii, where she lives on a 46-acre farm with 2,000 macadamia nut trees.
