NBC Plans Star-Studded Benefit for Victims of Hurricane Sandy

NBC will broadcast a one-hour telethon Friday to benefit the victims of Hurricane Sandy, which ravaged the East Coast earlier this week.Matt Lauer will host Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together, which will be broadcast live from New York CITY on Friday, Nov. 2 at 8/7c.

NBC will broadcast a one-hour telethon Friday to benefit the victims of Hurricane Sandy, which ravaged the East Coast earlier this week.
Matt Lauer will host Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together, which will be broadcast live from New York City on Friday, Nov. 2 at 8/7c. The telethon will also be broadcast on tape-delay for the West Coast and stream live on NBC.com.

Many artists have already signed on to perform at the benefit, including Christina Aguilera, Sting, Mary J. Blige, Jon Bon Jovi, Billy Joel and Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Kevin Bacon, Tina Fey, Jon Stewart, James Gandolfini, Jimmy Fallon, Brian Williams and Al Roker will also appear.
All money collected will be donated to the American Red Cross relief efforts to help provide food, shelter, emotional support and any other needed assistance.

NBCUniversal will broadcast the telethon across its network and cable channels, including NBC, Bravo, CNBC, E!, G4, NSNBC, Style, Syfy and USA.
