NBC is hoping to draw new viewers to Prime Suspect by airing reruns of the drama at 10/9c beginning Monday, Oct. 24. The repeats will continue in the same timeslot on Tuesday and Wednesday ahead of the show's regularly scheduled Thursday night airing. The previously scheduled repeats of Parenthood and Law & Order: SVU on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, will not be shown. NBC will also air a fourth rerun of Prime Suspect on Saturday at 9/8c.
The Maria Bello-headlined remake of the BBC series debuted soft, drawing only 6 million viewers and. However, the show has held steady, and the network recently ordered six additional scripts.
Over on CW, the Sarah Michelle Gellar noir thriller will air back-to-back reruns beginning at 8/7c on Tuesday, Oct. 25 and on Monday, Oct. 31, replacing repeat episodes of Gossip Girl, Hart of Dixie and 90210. These reruns are in addition to the Wednesday night repeats, which replaced the short-lived H8R.
Ringer opened to 2.7 million viewers, boosting The CW to its most-watched Tuesday night in two years. Week 2 dropped nearly 30 percent to 1.96 million viewers, which was followed by a slight uptick. Last week, Ringer jumped to 1.72 million after plummeting to a series low 1.49 million the previous week.
