According to the statement, O'Dell is leaving the show for a new opportunity. Although the details of her new gig are unknown, the TV personality says she plans to continue in entertainment journalism. "O'Dell appreciates NBC's cooperation as she begins this next chapter in her career ... This decision is based solely on Nancy's desire to take her career to the next level and is completely amicable."

O'Dell, 43, has been with the entertainment news program since its start in 1996 and served as a co-anchor alongside Pat O'Brien and, currently, Billy Bush since 1999. A former Miss South Carolina, O'Dell has worked as a broadcast journalist since the early '90s. O'Dell is married to Keith Zubchevich, with whom she has a 2-year-old daughter, Ashby.
