Naked Painting of Golden Girls' Bea Arthur Sells for Nearly $2 Million
These are not the Golden Girls you were expecting.
A painting of a topless Bea Arthur sold for $1.9 million to an anonymous buyer at Christie's auction house on Wednesday night, the New York Post reports.
However, Arthur, who died in 2009, did not actually sit for the painting, which was done by artist John Currin in 1991.

A spokesman for Christie's called the painting "historically significant," though noting that "it's radical to sexualize someone people think of as asexual."
