ABC is returning to the '90s vault for another scripted series in development: My Best Friend's Wedding.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC is developing a single-camera half-hour comedy that will act as a sequel to the 1997 movie that starred Julia Roberts and Rupert Everett.

The series will pick up where the movie ends, following the lives of Julianne Potter (played by Roberts in the film) and her best friend George (played by Everett in the movie) in New York City.

The movie's producers, Jerry Zucker and Janet Zucker, are reuniting with writer Ron Bass to executive-produce and write the series, which will be produced under Adam Sandler's division of Sony Pictures Television, Happy Madison Television.
