MTV Movie Awards: Hot red carpet looks
Broadcast live on Sunday night, O'Brien opened the show with a massive taped sketch that included 50 celebrity cameos. Beginning with Andy Samberg, the late-night host managed to crash a photo-shoot with Jessica Alba, hop in bed with Elijah Wood, have a cocktail with Lupita Nyong'o and even get a manicure with Taylor Swift. Other quick appearances included the cast of The Big Bang Theory, Adam Sandler,Katy Perry, Martin Scorsese, Demi Moore, Emma Watson, Russell Crowe and Paul Rudd.
The second film in the Hunger Games trilogy took the top prizes of the night with the blockbuster hit winning Movie of the Year. Star Jennifer Lawrence won Best Female Performance and Josh Hutcherson won Best Male Performance. Hutcherson took a moment during his acceptance speech to thank his late co-star Philip Seymour Hoffman.
"It was so cool to have Philip in our movies," the actor said. "He's one of the actors I've looked up to my entire life," Hutcherson said. "I know if Philip were here he would think this was really cool. We think about him every day on set, so wherever he is, this goes out to him, too."
Another moving tribute came later in the night for Walker, who died suddenly in a car crash last November. His Fast and the Furious co-star and on-screen love interest Jordana Brewster introduced the montage, narrated by Vin Diesel, saying, "He was humble. He thought about others ... His kindness was pure. He never asked for credit or glory. He was just a really good guy."
