Morgan Freeman is stepping up his TV producing game.
CBS has ordered a drama pilot from the Oscar-winning actor, TVGuide.com has learned.
Madam Secretary centers on the personal and professional life of a maverick female Secretary of State as she pushes international diplomacy, deals with office politics and balances a complicated family life. Joan of Arcadia creator Barbara Hall wrote the pilot and will executive-produce along with Freeman, Lori McCreary (Invictus) and Tracy Mercer (Through the Wormhole).
This is Freeman's latest foray into producing for TV. He's previously been the executive producer on documentary science series Through the Wormhole and Curiosity for Discovery.
Additionally, the network also ordered a comedy from I Love You, Man's John Hamburg and Matt Miller. Good Session tells the story of a happy couple who go to a therapist to help them decide if they should have a baby, but they quickly discover they have much more to discuss.
