Monsters University Nabs Top Box Office Spot Again

Monsters University hasn't graduated from the top spot at the box office just yet. The animated flick grossed $46.1 million this weekend, according to Box Office Mojo. Monsters University hasn't graduated from the top spot at the box office just yet. The animated flick grossed $46.1 million this weekend, according to Box Office Mojo.

The Pixar prequel to Monsters, Inc. has spent back-to-back weeks at No. 1 and has grossed a total $171 million so far.

26 must-see summer movies

Coming in at No. 2 was The Heat. The buddy comedy starring Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock raked in $40 million in its first weekend of release.

Last week's box office winner, World War Z, came in the third spot, taking in $29.8 million.White House Down, which stars Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx, followed at No. 4 with $25.7 in its opening weekend.

Man of Steel, plummeted to the fifth spot with $20.8 million, while This Is the End dropped to sixth place with $8.7 million for week three.

Rounding out the Top 10: Now You See Me (No. 7, $5.5 million),Fast & Furious 6 (No. 8, $2.4 million),Star Trek Into Darkness (No. 9, $2 million) andThe Internship (No. 10, $1.4 million).
