24 Alum Shohreh Aghdashloo Joins The Mob Doctor

Shohreh Aghdashloo has joined the cast of Fox's The Mob Doctor, TVGuide.com has confirmed.

The 24alum will recur on the series as Dr. Jayana Baylor, a legendary cardiothoracic specialist who returns from an Oxford sabbatical in order to perform a groundbreaking procedure at Roosevelt Medical Center. Entertainment Weeklyfirst broke the casting.

The Mob Doctor's antihero will cross the line

The series stars Jordana Spiro as ayoung female thoracic surgeon with roots in Bridgeport, Conn., where she juggles her career and her lifelong debt to the South Chicago mob, which is headed up by William Forsythe's Constantine.

Aghdashloo's other credits include ER, HouseandFlashForward.

The Mob Doctor premieres Monday, Sept. 17 at 9/8c on Fox.
