Mitch Hurwitz Signs Deal to Create New Series for Netflix

Mitch Hurwitz has signed a multi-year deal with Netflix, Deadline.com reports.

As part of his deal, the Arrested Developmentcreator will create and produce new original series as well as consult on other Netflix projects.

"We are lucky to be in business with Mitch Hurwitz, a true genius with one of the most distinctive voices in comedy today," Netflix's Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said. "Mitch's inventive approach to Arrested Development — one of the top TV comedies of this generation — was ahead of its time, and we're fortunate to have him on our team."

Although there was no announcement about another season of the cult comedy, which was resurrected by Netflix last year after seven years off the air, Deadline reports that have been conversations about what Hurwitz's deal means for Arrested Development's future.
