But who should play our favorite cardigan-wearing TV host? Check  out our picks below and weigh in with your own in the comments:
Greg Kinnear: A natural match for Rogers' affability and his comforting facial expressions, Kinnear could could connect with children and is great at playing unassuming characters with a juicy emotional core.

Tom Hanks: A mensch that could easily disappear to this role, Hanks just needs a little gray in his hair and a sweater, and children will fall in love. With Hanks finishing a run in New York theater, he could use a change of pace playing the influential chidlren's host.

Fall TV scorecard

James Franco: Franco has an empathetic smile that shows pain and happiness, and we could see him playing someone who can be gentle with kids.

Jason Segel: The Muppets star and screenwriter absolutely loves kids and has even been writing children's books, so he could be a good fit for this role.
