The precogs didn't see this coming. Fox has cut Minority Report's first season to 10 episodes, Variety reports.

The drama was originally given a 13-episode order, but thanks to underwhelming ratings it could be ending its run earlier than expected. Minority Report premiered to just over 3 million total viewers, but has dropped in each week since its debut, most recently drawing in just barely over 2 million viewers.

Unless the show's performance manages to dramatically improve over the course of its next seven episodes, the season finale could well be a series-ender. Sources say that viewers will get a satisfying finale, as the 10th episode was already planned as a fall finale-type episode.

Have you been watching Minority Report? Will you miss it if it doesn't return?

Minority Report airs Mondays at 9/8c on Fox.
