Mindy Project Adds Clueless Star as Danny's Dad

We can already feel the tempers flaring.

The Mindy Project has cast Dan Hedaya, best known for playing Cher's hotheaded dad in Clueless, as Danny's estranged father, Vulture reports.

Surprising celebrity family ties

Danny's dad, Alan, was the subject of a heated debate between Danny (Chris Messina) and his little brother, Richie (Max Minghella), in the most recent episode of the Fox comedy. Richie revealed he had been in touch with their father, who walked out on them and their mother long ago, and that their dad was now living in California. (Non-spoiler alert: Danny broke an LP, but the Castellano brothers eventually made up.)

Let's hope Papa Castellano is a Springsteen fan, or else things are going to get ugly between father and son fast. Hedaya's episode is scheduled to air in January.

Also known for his roles on Cheers and Monk, Hedaya most recently guest-starred on Golden Boy and Person of Interest.
