Of all the nutty barn-raising shindigs this town can cook up, this one definitely won't be half bad! According to Entertainment Weekly, Milo Ventimigliahas joined the impressive cast lineup for the highly anticipated Gilmore Girls reunion to be held Saturday at the annual ATX Festival in Austin, Texas.

Ventimiglia played the monosyllabic bad boy Jess Mariano for two seasons of The WB's beloved dramedy. The nephew of diner owner Luke Danes (Scott Patterson), Jess was a fellow book lover and eventual love interest for Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel) until a failed spin-off attempt at the end of Season 3 saw him leave Stars Hollow for the west coast.

A fan favorite, Jess later returned in Season 4 to confess his love and attempt to talk Rory into running away with him. He also appeared in Season 6 when she needed a swift kick in the you-know-where after dropping out of Yale (and to prove he was way better than Logan Huntzberger).

Is a Gilmore Girls reunion film or series in the works?

Saturday's Gilmore Girls panel, which serves as the festival's closing night event, includes creator and executive producer Amy Sherman-Palladino, her husband and fellow EP Daniel Palladino, and cast members Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop, Scott Patterson, Liza Weil, Keiko Agena, Danny Strong, Matt Czuchry, Jared Padalecki, Jackson Douglas, Todd Lowe, Liz Torres, Yanic Truesdale, and John Cabrera. Original cast member Edward Herrmann, who played Lorelai's father and Rory's grandfather, passed away last year.

Ventimiglia previously stated he was hoping his busy schedule would allow for him to attend the reunion. He appeared in a guest arc on Gotham last season and can currently be seen starring in ABC's new drama The Whispers. He also has about a bajillion other projects going on, so let's thank the pop culture gods for making this one happen. Because we all know Jess was Rory's best boyfriend.
