Miley Cyrus Nabs Top Honor at VMAs, Homeless Teen Accepts Award on Her Behalf

Miley Cyrus was the big winner at Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards, but it wasn't receiving the top honor or giving an outrageous performance that had people talking. Instead, Cyrus didn't even take the stage -- she had a young homeless man accept the trophy on her behalf, while she watched through tears from her seat. Check out all the hot fashion at the MTV Video Music Awards After Jimmy Fallon announced that Cyrus won Video of the Year for "Wrecking Ball," the 21-year-old hugged a young man who then walked on stage, speech in hand. "My name is Jessie," he said. "I am accepting this award on behalf of the 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth in the United States who are starving, lost and scared for their lives right now ... Though I may have been invisible to you on the streets, I have the same dreams that brought many of you here tonight." After sharing staggering statistics about homelessness, particularly in Los Angeles, Jessie pointed the audience to Cyrus' Facebook page, adding, "A dream you dream alone is only a dream. But a dream we dream together is reality." Add new fall shows to your Watchlist now Watch:
