TVGN has ordered eight half-hour episodes of The Sorrentinos, a new docu-series that will follow Mike's attempt to parlay his small-screen success into a lucrative career while also staying sober following his 2012 stint in rehab. His mom Linda, his two older brothers Frank and Marc, and his sister Melissa will also star in the series.
"We're excited to take viewers, who met Mike in a very different time and place of his life, and bring them along for this ride with The Sorrentinos," Brad Schwartz, President of Entertainment for TVGN, said in a statement. "Family is everything and it's something people universally come back to no matter who you are and what you do. Fame just makes the stakes higher and more public."
Added Sorrentino: "The reality of the situation is... for the first time, fans and the general public, will be able to see and, well, meet Michael Sorrentino. This next chapter of my life is about sobriety and family, and I'm stoked to take people on this journey with us."
In addition to starring on MTV's breakout reality hit, Sorrentino also competed on Season 11 of Dancing with the Stars.
Filming on the series, which will be executive-produced by Julie and Seth Jarrett (Celebrity Ghost Stories), kicks off in New Jersey this week.
